Monday, December 31, 2007 Bush Inks Darfur Divestment Bill Fund firms can expect renewed pressure from the Save Darfur Coalition following a new bill that was signed into law today. The AP reports that President Bush a bill that will allow mutual fund managers to cut ties with companies that have funded the genocide in Darfur, without the threat of lawsuits. Now that divestment is a bit easier, expect protesters to show up in force to pressure companies into divestment. Companies that have been target by the group in the past include: Fidelity, Franklin Templeton, Vanguard and Capital Group.
