Friday, December 14, 2007 Morningstar Makes a List of Fund Industry Surprises, Checks it Twice Morningstar's Greg Carlson has chosen the nine things that happened in the fund industry that surprised him most. The events encompass everything from fund manager departures to changes in Fidelity's top ranks. Some events on the list include: David Corkins' departure from Janus; Charles de Vaulx's hasty exit from First Eagle Funds, prompting the return of his predecessor, Jean-Marie Eveillard; and of course there couldn't be a list of surprises with out Fidelity on it, for Carlson the biggest surprise out of Fido this year was Abby Johnson "becoming once again a contender" for Ned's chair after the departure of potential successors, Bob Reynolds and Ellyn McColgan.
