Thursday, October 11, 2007 The Nasdaq Welcomes Cubes Jr. The Nasdaq has started a new index nicknamed "Cubes Jr." which tracks the Nasdaq Q-50, or 50 companies on the cusp of entering the Nasdaq-100 Index. The launch, writes John Spence in today's WSJ Fund Track column, highlights the efforts of the Nasdaq and other exchanges to grab a piece of the ETF pie. The older Nasdaq-100 index is the trading benchmark for the PowerShares QQQ Trust. The ETF is nicknamed "Cubes," and was previously named the Nasdaq-100 Trust.
