First Eagle Loses Another Eveillard Successor

First Eagle funds have hired Bruce Greenwald as the new director of research for the Global Value group. Morningstar reports that Greenwald replaces former research director Charles de Lardemelle, who has left to pursue other interests. In the wake of the mysterious disappearance of Charles de Vaulx, the former lead manager of First Eagle's Global, Overseas, Gold and U.S. Value funds in March of this year, de Lardemelle had been considered another possible successor to Jean Marie Eveillard, lead manager of First Eagle's Global, Overseas, Gold and U.S. Value funds. Simon Fenwick, manager of the Gold Fund, has also left the firm.
