ETFs From New York May Get a Pad in Tokyo

The Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) is making a play for a slice of the exchange-traded fund (ETF) business with cross-listings of ETFs now traded on New York and other markets. The WSJ's Fund Track column reports that the TSE is in talks with unidentified "U.S. and European securities brokers" to "facilitate the process." Atsushi Saito, TSE's president told reports that "we want to list many [foreign] ETFs on the TSE as early as possible." The NYSE Euronext is reportedly cooperating on the project.
