Sentinel Adds Equity Analyst


Fresh from changing its name and logo (see "Sentinel Rebrands, Pulls the Plug On Green Mountain Boy," July 23, 2007), Sentinel Investments has added to its mid cap growth team. Sentinel hired Ken Johnson, who was most recently with Clearbridge Advisors, as equity analyst. Johnson will focus on the cyclical industries of energy, materials and processing, industrials and business services, and will report to Paul Kandel, senior vice president and lead portfolio manager of the Sentinel Mid Cap Growth Fund in the firm's New York offices.


In an expansion move, Ken Johnson has joined Sentinel Asset Management as an Equity Analyst for the Mid Cap Team, it was announced today by Christian W. Thwaites, President and CEO.

In this post, Mr. Johnson will focus on the cyclical industries of Energy, Materials and Processing, Industrials and Business Services, and will report to Paul Kandel, Senior Vice President and Lead Portfolio Manager of the Sentinel Mid Cap Growth Fund (SNTX), in the company's New York offices.

"Ken's 21 years of Wall Street experience will be an important asset as we continue to build Sentinel's position in the industry," said Mr. Thwaites.

He comes to Sentinel after 6 years at Clearbridge Advisors (formerly known as Citigroup Asset Management), where he was a Senior Research Analyst and Assistant Portfolio Manager on the Small Cap Growth Fund, Prior to that, he started his career as a lawyer for Cahill Gordon & Reindel and subsequently worked for G. S. Warburg (now part of UBS) and Jefferies & Co., Inc. Academically, he earned a B. A. at Cornell University, a M. A. from the University of Michigan, and a J. D. from the University of Buffalo.
