Investors Put Fund Cost Above All Else

Low cost funds have fallen into favor with investors according to a new study by Investment Company Institute. The WSJ reports that the study found that 74 percent of recent fund buyers considered the fees and expenses associated with the fund before investing. In fact fees and expenses were even put above fund performance by investors, with only 69 percent mentioning this. Investors are getting what they want according to the ICI with fund fees falling to 1.07 percent of assets in 2006 from 2.32 percent in 1980.
