Thursday, May 24, 2007 AMVESCAP No More AMVESCAP shareholders on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved the company's bid to change its name. The firm is now called "INVESCO PLC." The MFWire reported on April 12 that the company wanted the change in order to leverage what they perceive as their strengths. In the voting, 154,888,143 votes were cast in favor of the name change, 184,869 votes were cast against the name change, and 5,169,044 shareholders withheld their votes. President and CEO Martin Flanagan said the INVESCO name "will more accurately reflect our integrated strategy that unites all of our businesses under a shared culture."
