BGI Adds Five Global Sector ETFs

Barclays Global Investors added to its iShares family of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) this week. The San Francisco-based asset manager started trading five iShares S&P Global Sector Exchange Traded Funds on the New York Stock Exchange. The new ETFs bring the total number of global sector ETFs in the family to 10. BGI also offers 31 iShares U.S. sector funds.

All counted, BGI now offers 180 ETFs.

"iShares are the only ETFs that provide global sector exposure, and these new funds round out the family, " stated Lee Kranefuss, CEO of BGI's Intermediary and ETF Business. "Global sector investing is a growing trend as advisors and investors realize that there's more to sector investing than focusing only on U.S. companies. Global sector investing allows investors to get exposure to a broader set of the largest companies in a sector."

The new products include: iShares S&P Global Consumer Index Fund (RXI), iShares S&P Global Consumer Staples Index Fund (KXI), iShares S&P Global Industrials Index Fund (EXI), iShares S&P Global Utilities Sector Index Fund (JXI), iShares S&P Global Materials Sector Index Fund (MXI).

SEI Investments Distribution Co. is the distributor of the funds.
