Bay State Asset Manager Promotes Top Lawyer

After seven years, John Kingston, III has received two promotions at Affiliated Managers Group Inc.. The general counsel of the Boston-based asset manager is now an executive vice president, according to a release issued Wednesday.

AMG president and CEO Sean Healey praised Kingston and heartily endorsed the promotion.

"John has proven himself instrumental to the well-being and growth of our company," Healey said in the release. "We think this new designation better reflects the importance of his contributions to our corporate development, and we look forward to his continuing counsel in the years ahead."

Kingston started his AMG tenure as an associate general counsel and vice president. He was promoted to general counsel and senior vice president in 2002 (read more here), and he will continue serving as general counsel.
