Monday, June 5, 2006 Former Janus Manager Not Through With Mutual Funds Sandy Rufenacht left Janus to focus on institutional and high net worth clients, but his high-yield approach is now on offer to mutual fund investors once again. A partnership between Rufenacht's RIA start-up, Three Peaks Capital Management, and New York-based the Aquila Group of Funds has brought forth the Aquila Three Peaks High Income Fund, the firms announced Monday. Greenwood Village, Colorado-based Three Peaks will serve as sub-advisor to the fund, which will be managed by Aquila. Rufenacht managed the Janus High-Yield Fund up until the founding of Three Peaks in 2003. "We are very excited to have someone of Sandy Rufenacht's expertise, and industry-wide reputation, managing the portfolio," enthused Diana Herrmann, president and CEO of Aquila Management Corp., in a statement.
