Baron Capital Taps Portfolio Manager

Baron Capital Management has named a new skipper for its Baron Fifth Avenue Growth Fund. According to an announcement on the firm's Web site, Randall Haase will become portfolio manager of the $134 million fund effective May 1, replacing Mitch Rubin, who is leaving with Morty Schaja, Baron Capital's president and chief operating officer, to form a hedge fund venture.

In addition to the Fifth Avenue Growth Fund, Rubin also managed the $154 million iOpportunity Fund. Baron Capital earlier announced that Mike Lippert will succeed him in that role.
