Monday, January 30, 2006 SEC Chief Undergoes Surgery The chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission underwent surgery for removal of thymoma on Monday. Christopher Cox, 53, is expected to be back to work in mid-February, the commission said in a release last Friday. Cox, a former California Republican congressman, was appointed by President Bush last June to lead the commission, succeeding William Donaldson.
