Wednesday, January 11, 2006 Diamond Hill Adds Fund Diamond Hill Investment Partners has signed on a stock picker to head a newly launched fund. Chris Welch will co-manage the new Small-Mid Cap Fund with Chris Bingaman and Tom Schindler. Welch joins the Columbus, Ohio-based investment management firm from Fiduciary Trust Company International, where he was a portfolio manager. Prior to that Welch was an equity analyst at Nationwide Insurance’s mutual fund unit from 1995 to 2002. Diamond Hill launched the Small-Mid Cap Fund on December 30, 2005, said Ric Dillon, Diamond Hill's chief investment officer. "With the recent closing of our Small Cap Fund to new investors we feel that the Small-Mid Cap Fund can be an attractive long-term investment alternative for our clients."
