JPMorgan Unveils Tax-Exempt Fixed Income Fund

JPMorgan Funds has launched a new tax-exempt fixed income fund designed to protect returns from being eroded by inflation.

To achieve this, the JPMorgan Tax Aware Real Return Fund is investing in inflation-linked and tax-exempt securities, among others. Fund managers are Deepa Majmudar and Richard Taormina.

“This fund will allow investors to diversify their portfolio while at the same time potentially reduce their taxable income and guard against a loss of purchasing power due to inflation,” Connie Plaehn, managing director and head of retail fixed income at JPMorgan Asset Management, in a statement.

Prior to the launch, this strategy was only available to institutional investors.
