Monday, October 31, 2005 Manager Swaps: Transamerica, Eaton Vance, Scudder Transamerica Investment Management has hired a new portfolio manager for fixed income products. Derek Brown, who joins from Bradford & Marzeck, has been named co-manager for Transamerica's investment grade, aggregate government/mortgage-backed and short-duration fixed income products. Tom Fetter, head of Eaton Vance's municipal bonds group, will retire from the company on November 1. Cynthia Clemson and Robert MacIntosh will replace him. J. Christopher Gagnier, one of the portfolio managers of the Scudder Total Return Portfolio, will leave Scudder effective November 30, according to a SEC filing. The fund will be managed by Arnim S. Holzer, Thomas F. Sassi, William Chepolis, Julie M. Van Cleave, Andrew P. Cestone, Robert Wang and Inna Okounkova. Additionally, Morningstar reports that Jan Faller, manager of the $378 million Scudder Strategic Income Fund, is no longer at the firm.
