Hancock Launches Asset Allocation Funds

John Hancock Funds is the latest fund family to add asset-allocation fund-of-funds to its lineup.

John Hancock's offerings -- the John Hancock Allocation Growth + Value Portfolio and the John Hancock U.S. Global Leaders Growth Fund -- will both invest in other subadvised John Hancock funds.

True to its name, the Allocation Growth + Value Portfolio will divvy half of its assets to the John Hancock U.S. Global Leaders Growth Fund, subadvised by Sustainable Growth Advisers, and half to the John Hancock Classic Value Fund, subadvised by Pzena Investment Management.

The Allocation Core Portfolio will split its portfolio between the John Hancock U.S. Global Leaders Growth Fund, John Hancock Classic Value Fund and John Hancock Strategic Income Fund. Those funds are subadvised by Sustainable Growth Advisers, Pzena Investment Management and John Hancock Advisers, respectively.

John Hancock also offers target-date Lifestyle Funds through 401(k) plans and annuities.
