Dimensional Co-Founder to Retire

Rex Sinquefield co-chairman of Dimensional Fund Advisors and index investing pioneer, plans to retire at the end of this year, the company announced in a press release.

Sinquefield is also known for "Stocks, Bonds, Bills, and Inflation," a book he co-authored with Roger Ibbotson which led to a historical database of stock prices.

Dimensional said that Sinquefield plans to retire to his farm in Missouri and start up an economic think tank. The co-founder will continue to advise the company and remain invested in the firm. Sinquefield co-founded the firm with David G. Booth in 1981.
