Chicago-based Ibbotson Associates has tapped Tom Idzorek, 34, as director of research. Idzorek will manage the research department, oversee research projects, and contribute to the development of Ibbotson products and services, according to company officials.

Idzorek was most recently a senior quantitative analyst and researcher with Zephyr Associates, Inc., where he developed and researched financial models and techniques for inclusion in the company's institutional portfolio analytic software.
