Forward Management, the advisor to the Forward Funds and the Sierra Club Funds, has partnered with New York-based broker-dealer Palladium Capital Advisors to launch Forward Private Advisors.

The new business unit will provide alternative investments for institutions and high-net worth investors.

Toronto-based money manager Maple Financial Group has already signed on with the new unit.

Michael Herr, formerly of Salomon Smith Barney, will head the new unit.
