A 16-Year M* Vet and SVP Exits

Reported by Andrew Lusk

A senior, 16-year Morningstar veteran and key ally to asset managers is heading "onward and upward" by exiting the business and joining the leadership team of digital technology consulting and software development firm that helps "accelerate digital transformation."

Clark Ainsworth
AndPlus
Senior Vice President, Head of Strategic Accounts
Clark Ainsworth recently joined Southborough, Massachusetts-based AndPlus as senior vice president and head of strategic accounts, MFWire has learned. New York City-based Ainsworth most recently served as as senior vice president for Chicago, Illinois-based Morningstar, managing "global business development and the overall relationships for Morningstar's largest strategic partners," including asset managers, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Spokespeople at Morningstar and AndPlus did not respond to inquiries for comment.

"I will forever be grateful to Morningstar for the opportunity to lead our business development in a new region," Ainsworth posted recently, "and for all the learning and empowering experiences that helped shape who I am today."

"Hopefully I was able to impart some wisdom too, and at crossroads like these my go-to phrase 'onward and upward' seems most fitting."

Ainsworth was with Morningstar for sixteen years, beginning his tenure there in 2005 as an index data analyst. He worked through the ranks as an institutional sales manager for Latin America, head of sales in Chile, country head of Morningstar Brazil, and eventually landed his final SVP role in the Big Apple.

"I launch the next chapter of my career by joining AndPlus' team. I'm excited to work side by side with [president and CEO] Sean Mahoney and [chief business officer] Craig Gosselin to grow AndPlus' business, and to help clients with their digital transformation journey."

"Apart from incredible technological capabilities, AndPlus enjoys a culture of collaboration, innovation, integrity, and empathy. I couldn’t be happier to join the AndPlus family!!!"

Ainsworth began working with Morningstar a year after finishing college. He is an alumnus of Oberlin College and of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
