The MFEA 2017 STAR Awards will be extending its deadline for submissions to June 16th. STAR Awards program manager Gina Meagher says they are on pace to receive the same number of submissions as last year, but decided to extend the deadline anyways.

“Several firms have come to us to ask for more time to prepare their entries for this year,” Meagher explains.

A panel of judges that are leaders of various mutual fund companies will review submissions next month. There are five categories of STAR awards: retail, advisor, retirement, overall, and a community investment award.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing the winners from all the companies and all the great work they’re doing,” Meagher tells MFWire.

The awards will be held on October 25th in Chicago, Illinois.
