ETF launches slowed down last month, yet new products are still concentrated in niches. Brendan Conway of Barron's highlights the five exchange-traded products that launched in January, none of which are broad index trackers.

Last month's new launches were the Global X Junior MLP ETF [profile], the iPath S&P MLP ETN [profile], the Credit Suisse Gold Shares Covered Call ETN [profile], the Forensic Accounting ETF and the WisdomTree Global Corporate Bond ETF [profile].
