Not much has been heard from Buddy Donohue since he
announced his plan two months ago to leave his post as the
director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's
division of investment management in November. Last night, Donohue gave
his first speech since his August announcement.
Donohue took the stage as the keynote speaker at the
Retirement Income Industry Association Annual Meeting and
Awards Dinner at the Hyatt Harborside in Boston.
"This will be one of my last opportunities to speak with market participants in my current position," Donohue told the audience.
In his remarks, he discussed, among others, 12b-1 reform, target-date funds and money market funds.
So what's next for Donohue?
Donohue told
The MFWire.com he will not be considering his next chapter until after he leaves the commission.
