London Pacific Enters New Alliance

Reported by Tony Pennino

ORBA Financial Management has entered into an alliance with London Pacific Group, Michael Mayer, chairman of London Pacific Advisors, told the MutualFundWire.com. The agreement calls for ORBA to utilize London Pacific's technology in powering its STAR Investment Allocation Account system. ORBA's approximately 575 advisors have access to that system.

ORBA's advisors will have access to a number of online services including marketing, training, operations, and support. The system also provides research and marketing materials. "The system can be used to support clients who have mutual funds, managed accounts, or ETFs," Mayer reported. "Those are the modules for which we supply research, but there are also different kinds of products, such as insurance offerings, that can also be included in the system. It is very flexible, and there are no bars to different portfolios."

ORBA will be specifically using London Pacific's platform for its separate account and mutual fund clients. "Clients benefit because their advisors have access to separate account managers and mutual funds that have passed LPA's stringent due diligence process," Brendan McLaughlin, national director of managed accounts at ORBA. "LPA has been very flexible by catering to our needs to private label and customize our own unique system. Our goal was to create a leading managed account program. We believe our relationship with LPA enables us to better compete in this marketplace."

ORBA will be utilizing the following features from London Pacific: portfolio accounting, monitoring, performance reporting, and invoicing services.

Mayer also added that London Pacific is continuing to upgrade its service. "We are enhancing our system right now. We are also building the list of different products we can accommodate such as individual securities," he contended. "Our hallmark is flexibility and customizing to our clients needs. We have the capability to integrate the European-type managed account products into our system."

"We have a comparative analysis module, but we cannot design any kind of reporting module that one of our client's might need," he concluded.
