With Putnam's continued underperformance starting to affect its company's shares, just how much patience does Great-West have with its new acquisition?

Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail asked Wenli Tan, a mutual fund analyst at Morningstar, for his opinion on the situation. Tan told the paper he wouldn't be surprised if underperformance continues to see changes in high-level management at Putnam. A industry consultant also told the pub something similar to what the MFWire reported in December of 2007, (see: "Putnam May Plug Into New Sales Force in '08", MFWire December 17, 2007) that Great-West may consider making another acquisition and then merging Putnam into it.
