Morgan Stanley Splits the Fund Director Role Between Three

Reported by Anastasia Donde

Paul Weisenfeld's director of funds job at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, which he left to join Perella Weinberg in April, has been split amongst three fund executives at the wirehouse.

Frank McDonnell is overseeing mutual funds, offshore funds and 529 programs. David Rosen is in charge of closed-end funds and ETFs. And John Hesse has been appointed director of distribution for all these investment products.

McDonell joined Morgan Stanley in 2009 as an executive director, first in financial planning and later became a product manager for exchange traded products in 2012. Before Morgan Stanley, he held wealth management and advisory tittles at Citi. He is based in Purchase, NY.

Rosen had also joined Morgan Stanley in 2009, as a vice president and later executive director for closed end funds, exchange traded products and unit investment trusts. He previously worked as a vice president and control officer at Smith Barney and an analyst in anti-money laundering compliance at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 2006, according to his LinkedIn profile. Rosen is based in New York.

Hesse, meanwhile, is based in St. Louis, MO and has worked in a variety of fund sales and consulting roles at Morgan Stanley since 2004. Before that he was a complex sales manager at Merrill Lynch for two years.
