Lincoln National Corporation has made Jude T. Driscoll job as president and chief executive officer of its Delaware Investments and Lincoln National Investment Companies permanent. Driscoll had been serving has been serving as the interim chief executive officer since October 2002

Driscoll's position opened in October when then CEO Charles E. Haldeman Jr. took a post with Putnam Investments as co-chief investment officer. Driscoll was named as the interim-CEO while the firm searched to replace Haldeman. It turned out that the firm did not have to look far to finish its search.

"Jude has done a terrific job at Delaware and has earned the respect and admiration of the entire senior management team at Lincoln Financial Group and Delaware Investments. Jude has a superb track record in investment management and has demonstrated ability to put together a strong team. Jude has a natural talent for leading people," said Jon A. Boscia, chairman and chief executive officer of Lincoln Financial Group. "Delaware has experienced a tremendous turnaround during the last two years and Jude has been a driving force during this period. I am delighted to have him leading our investment management group."

Driscoll joined Delaware from Conseco Capital Management in August 2000 as executive vice president and head of Fixed Income. He had been senior vice president of the Fixed Income Group and director of Investment Processes from 1998 to 2000 at Conseco. Prior to that, he was a managing director of NationsBanc Montgomery Securities from 1996 to 1998 and was head of utility trading for Goldman Sachs & Co. from 1991 to 1996.
