For a guy who says he isn't campaigning
for a cabinet-job in the Obama administration, Larry Fink
certainly is spending a lot of time in front of TV cameras.
Yesterday the BlackRock
] CEO sat down
with Charlie Rose on CBS This Morning
to talk about the U.S. economy, the fiscal cliff, entitlement reform, and other pressing issues. [video
In a six-minute discussion, Fink sounded very much like a potential Treasury Secretary as he expounded on the short- and long-term potential of the U.S. economy and its recovery from the financial crisis.
"The only thing between [us and] a great, successful economy is this fiscal cliff, which could be a rather large destabilizer of the economy over the next two years," he said. "If we fall over the cliff we'll go into a recession, I can say that with total certainty. We're seeing behavior changes by the CEOs, they're holding back hiring, they're holding back spending at the moment."
