Artisan Funds has named James D. Hamel, CFA, as associate portfolio manager of Artisan Mid Cap Fund as of October 29, 2001. Hamel will assist Andrew C. Stephens on the fund.



The Mutual Fund Education Alliance is holding a sweepstakes to give a $10,000 in fund shares. The giveaway celebrates the MFEA's 30th Anniversary. The prize is being donated by ten different fund firms, wach of which is donating $1,000 to a different winner. Participating funds are: Acorn Family of Mutual Funds, ABN AMRO Funds, Ariel Mutual Funds, Babson Funds, The Berger Funds, Monetta Family of Mutual Funds, Montgomery Funds, Oakmark Family of Funds, Stein Roe Mutual Funds, Westcore Funds. Winners will be announced in January.
