Thornburg Funds is continuing to put the finishing touches on its current regional sales team. The firm recently added a regional salesperson to cover the South. It is also seeking one additional wholesaler to round out its team. That last position will bring the total number of regional salespeople to nine, said
Dale Van Scoyk, national sales director.
The hirings are a part of a general expansion of the firm's sales force. Thornburg's sales have been growing at a 40 percent annual rate, according to Van Scoyk.
Each of the regional sales people is responsible for selling all three of the Thornburg's products, including its funds, mortgage products from Thornburg Mortgage and those of a sister-firm Thornburg Realty Advisors.
The new wholesaler is
John Williams, who joins the firm from JP Morgan Chase and will cover Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and the Florida panhandle.
Williams was replaced at JP Morgan Chase by
Jeff Fox. A spokesperson at the firm said that the personnel move was entirely merger related and that Williams had covered the region for Chase while Fox was responsible for the same territory at JP Morgan.
