With technology on its sleeve, RS Investment Management (RSIM) will be unrolling its updates over the next several quarters on a newly designed Web site, scheduled for launch on May 1.

The site will feature streaming video commentaries from their portfolio managers, including the second quarter updates that were made available on Friday. The streaming video versions attract four times more traffic than the audio versions, according to Bob Morris, vice president of e-commerce. "The videos have been wildly successful; production is getting a little slicker," said Morris, adding that the out-of-pocket expense for the videos remains negligible.

"Technically, I've got the backbone of the site where I want: wireless, audio, streaming video, and more content," said Morris, adding that the redesign element for this round principally involved only the aesthetics.

Additional functionalities are scheduled to roll out after that, including more features for institutional clients and financial advisors, typified by a functionality like individual account updates.
