Franklin Templeton is hiring three new wholesalers to fill vacated positions,
Dan O'Lear, senior vice president, director of sales, told the MutualFundWire.com.
All three positions will report to O'Lear. One will cover regional wirehouses and be based in Minneapolis. One will cover financial advisors and be based in Texas and the third will be based in Los Angeles.
O'Lear added that, unlike last year, he is now getting unsolicited interest in wholesaler positions. Between changes in the economy and a shift from the commission-based business model, brokers are rethinking their options.
"We're getting a lot of calls from brokers," he said.
A spokesperson for the firm added that it is also looking at adding wholesalers for its retirement product channel.
