Word has gone around that
Netfolio pushed up its launch date from the end of the year to March in response to recent announcements of basket products from
Fidelity Investments and
Charles Schwab. However, the New York-based firm denies any such reaction.
"We were always planning on launching at the beginning of March," said
Ari Rosenbaum, vice president of marketing and brand management. "Our launch date had been firm before the announcements from Schwab and Fidelity."
In the end of January, well before news arrived publicly of the bi-coastal basket products, Rosenbaum had said to the MutualFundWire, "We're scheduled to go live early this year."
It is possible that Netfolio had been aware of the launches long enough before then to hike the skirts up on their own launch; if so, they may become a little more popular at cocktail parties. See you at the cheese tray.
