American Skandia has finally found a new head for its legal team.
Kirk Wickman will join the firm next month, on March 5, as general counsel.
In addition to his responsibilities overseeing the company's legal affairs, Wickman will also a member of the American Skandia Operating Group. He will head Skandia's team of fourteen attorneys, ten paralegals, 4 administrative assistants, a records manager and department manager. Wickman reports directly to
Wade Dokken, president and chief executive officer.
Wickman comes from
Aetna Financial Services, where he had been senior vice president and general counsel. At Aetna, he managed a staff approximately twice the size of Skandia's. He replaces
Dick Kennedy, who left in July. Kennedy is now practicing with
Coudert Brothers, in New York City. In the interim,
Nick Potter, a partner at
Debevoise and Plimpton, a New York City law firm, has filled the role.
