New York Life is sparing no expense to reach consumers. Today, it announced its sponsorship of the MainStay Independence Bowl. The firm has committed for three years but may extend its relationship further.

"MainStay is very excited about supporting college football through the sponsorship of the MainStay Independence Bowl," said Brian Lee, president and chief executive officer retail markets for NY Life Investment Management. "This particular bowl game has a long tradition. Its popularity and national television coverage on ESPN provides an ideal backdrop to expand MainStay's public presence."

The sponsorship demonstrates the extent of MainStay's effort to reach consumers with its branding effort, coming in the middle of a significant marketing push.
