Gabelli Asset Management has named
Paul B. Guenther former president of
PaineWebber Group current Chairman of the
New York Philharmonic, to its Board of Directors. Guenther's Board seat is a new one and will expand the Board to six members.
"We're fortunate to get the advice and counsel of so eminently qualified a director as Paul Guenther. And his joining the Board will renew the warm professional collegiality we shared prior to Paul's retirement from PaineWebber," commented
Mario J. Gabelli, chairman and chief executive officer of Gabelli Asset Management.
Guenther, 60, retired from PaineWebber in 1995 and has since focused his energies on the nonprofit sector, becoming Chairman of the New York Philharmonic in September 1996 and Chairman of Fordham University in May 1998.
