BISYS Fund Services of Little Falls, New Jersey is launching a new product,
WebStatements, that is designed to provide mutual fund investors with account statements over the Internet. WebStatements is a part of
WebSuite, BISYS's line of Web service for mutual fund firms.
Officials at BISYS intend for WebStatements to replicate a printed shareholder statement electronically.
But executives at the firm believe that they have gone a step further in their new service. WebStatements is not a document image on the computer screen. Rather, the BISYS service provides links to a given mutual fund firm's website. The idea here is to provide investors with access to additional information with a single click.
The BISYS system also contains click on text and graphics. If an investor utilizes that function, a new window will appear on the screen with performance graphs, financial planning tools, and further details about a fund. There are also sections for users to get change of address and other similar forms.
WebStatements also generates automatic e-mails to users to notify them when their statements are available.
