Barclays Global Investors has hired Ray DeAngelo, on February 1 as regional sales officer for its mutual funds, a spokesperson for the company said.

In the newly created position, DeAngelo will be covering the regional RIA channel where he will be in charge of mutual fund sales to financial advisors. He will be reporting directly to Victoria Klein, head of sales at Barclays.

Formerly, DeAngelo was vice president, eastern regional sales director at TCW Galileo Funds. Christie Kinney assistant vice president, based in New York City, will be taking over his responsibilities until a replacement is found, Alvin Albe, president of TCW told the MFWire.com.
