Two former Sunstone vice presidents have left the Milwaukee fund servicing firm to form their own consulting firm, ideassociates, and have recently hired two more Sunstone -ers as senior consultants.

Terry Ladwig, principal, former vice president and managing executive of Sunstone's marketing and advertising division will be heading the new firm's marketing efforts while Anita Zagrodnik, former vice president of Sunstone's administration, accounting, tax services and investor services groups will be overseeing the firm's business advisory practice.

ideassociates has also hired Richard Snyder and Amy Thorison, both former Sunstone employees, as senior consultants and project managers.

Ladwig said that ideassociates will not be limiting itself to mutual fund consulting, but also stressed that the fund business is where the firm's personnel's expertise lies, and thus will be a focus of attention. ideassociates is currently working with LaSalle Bank in Chicago as well as private money managers in both Milwaukee and Chicago.

The firm will also concentrate efforts on the fund services side of the consulting business, especially focusing on fund companies that are considering in-house servicing of its mutual funds.

"We're currently performing a feasibility analysis for a large fund company that is looking to bring its fund servicing functions in-house, including fund accounting and administration," said Ladwig. She added that the firm's services would include the recommendation of what systems to use, what employees to hire and best practice advice as well as the necessary marketing implementation.

On the marketing side, Ladwig said that she hopes to work with the firm's clients that have marketing support needs, including brand profiling and corporate identity.
