American Century, which distributes its no-load funds via all of the other major platforms and several of the minor ones has finally joined the NTF family at
Fidelity's
FundsNetwork, offering 45 of its funds through the
supermarket. American Century's execs have resisted joining the program because of a perception that the Boston Behemoth was placing greater emphasis on selling its own funds.
However, now
Brian Jeter, senior vice president of the Kansas City fund giant says, "Fidelity has one of the premier fund distribution platforms in the industry, and we are excited to offer our funds to their customers with no transaction fee. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship."
Kinetics Asset Management also announced earlier in the week that the Internet Fund is now being distributed via Schwab OneSource, Schwab's NTF fund supermarket.
"We are extremely pleased to add Schwab, one of the largest no-load fund marketplaces, to our list of financial institutions that make available The Internet Fund," stated
Brooke Connell, senior vice president, business development, Kinetics.
Connell added that the fund was added to Schwab's supermarket in order to broaden distribution to advisors and planners and would be supported by Kinetics' recently launched national advertising campaign.
And finally, in recognition of "the rapid growth in the number of individual investors using the Internet to trade mutual funds,"
Northern Funds has also added 5 of its 27 funds to Schwab's Mutual Fund OneSource, including its hot-performing
Northern Technology Fund, which has returned 86.71% over the last 12 months.
The five Northern Funds now available through Schwab are the
Northern Technology Fund,
Select Equity Fund,
Growth Equity Fund,
Mid Cap Growth Fund and
Income Equity Fund.
