The
California Mutual Funds Association, comprised of five smaller fund companies from the San Francisco area, is holding a conference for investment professionals on May 18, 1999 in San Francisco. Five of the associations' portfolio managers will discuss current market conditions, Year 2000 issues and profile the five no-load mutual fund companies.
The speakers will include
Malcolm R. Fobes III of the Berkshire Capital Growth & Value Fund, named rookie fund of the year in 1998 by Mutual Fund Magazine, and
Jeff and
Ross Provence, the father/son team at the helm of the golf-focused Value Trends Links Fund. Also present at the conference will be
Tom Thurlow, portfolio manager of the Thurlow Growth Fund,
Michael Boyle of the Boyle Marathon Fund and
Nick Gerber, manager of the Ameristock Fund, and president of the association.
