GE Capital, the worldwide financial services subsidiary of
General Electric Company, appointed
Daniel H. Mudd president of GE Capital Japan, effective immediately. Mudd was also named an officer of General Electric. In his new position, Mudd will be responsible for business development, external relations and spreading best practices across all of GE Capital's businesses in Japan.
Mudd, 40, joined GE Capital as vice president for business development in 1991, was appointed managing director in 1993, and was named president and ceo for European Fleet Services in 1995. He was named president of GE Capital Asia Pacific in 1996. His career prior to joining GE included management consulting at Peat Marwick and strategic planning at Xerox.
