Federated Investors has named David A. Briggs senior vice president of the trading unit that manages its equity and high yield group mutual funds. The equity and high yield funds represent approximately $20 billion in assets under management.

Briggs joined Federated in 1982 and has served as a systems expert, trader and manager of traders. Prior to his promotion, Briggs had been responsible for domestic equity trading at Federated. Before joining the company, he had been a management consultant at Touch Ross and the Securities Group, and an investment analyst at Mellon Bank.
