E*Trade Group Inc. (EGRP) today announced it has added the fixed income, equity and asset allocation portfolios of the
Goldman Sachs Mutual Funds to the
E*Trade Mutual Fund Center, which now offers 4,600 funds.
"Contrary to the perceptions of some industry analysts, we believe the 'high net-worth' investor is already actively exploring the online environment. In fact, E*Trade's account population contains a significant number of investors who fit this profile," said Brian Murray, vice president and general manager of E*Trade's Mutual Funds Group.
"As these investors begin to migrate their assets to the web, an important part of our account acquisition strategy will be to provide access to the products which they are accustomed to seeing in the heritage brokerage environment," he continued. "Goldman Sachs is one of the most respected of these names and we are pleased they have agreed to participate in our offering."
