Oppenheimer Capital, a unit of
Pimco Advisors Holdings (NYSE:
PA), has hired
Peter Jones as managing director, head of business development.
Jones, 42, will be joining Oppenheimer in August replacing
Joseph Rusbarsky who left the company earlier this year. A spokesperson for the company would not comment on Rusbarsky's future plans.
Jones will be reporting directly to
Jim McCaughan, ceo of Oppenheimer Capital. Previous to his new position he had been managing director, head of institutional sales for
Chancellor LGT Asset Management, which was acquired by
Invesco last year.
A spokesperson for Invesco said Jones' duties of corporate marketing of mutual funds will be filled internally but the company will be looking outside for endowment and foundation marketing.
Jones' primary responsibilities for Oppenheimer Capital will include the development of relationships with consultants and new business prospects.
