Investors Group Inc., Canada's largest mutual fund complex has been busy in the first half of 1999, adding 18 funds to its product line-up, including new
Scudder,
Templeton,
AGF and
Maxxum funds.
The company has also recently changed advisors on 5 of the new offerings, dropping
Merrill Lynch Asset Management and replacing it with Templeton on two funds, Scudder on two more, and AGF on a fifth.
"Investors Group's comprehensive selection of funds, including Canadian, U.S. and Global investment options, along with a diversity of investment styles provides our clients with the tools they need to develop a successful personal financial strategy,'' said
John Wiltshire, vice-president of investment product marketing at Investors Group.
"The combination of Canada's largest family of funds which is comprised of Investors Master Series(TM) and our enhanced fund partnerships along with the ability to transfer between a wide selection of fund families without cost is unique in the Canadian industry."
As part of a mutual decision reached by Investors Group and Merrill Lynch Asset Management, the five Merrill Lynch funds that were introduced in 1996 will change advisors, effective by August 1, 1999.
The new funds and the advisor changes are as follows:

With the new funds, Investors Group's product line-up will grow to 70 funds, compared to 52 at the beginning of 1999. This now includes 46 Investors Master Series(TM) funds and 24 additional funds through partnerships with seven other financial organizations.
"Investors Group has just completed the most ambitious enhancement of
fund options in its 70 year history,'' added Wiltshire. ``The introduction of four new 100% RSP Global Funds, four segregated funds, Investors Retirement High Growth Portfolio Fund, Investors Quebec Enterprise Fund and 8 new funds in partnership with Scudder, Maxxum, Templeton and AGF gives our clients a comprehensive selection of mutual funds on which to build their financial futures."
