Armada and Parkstone Funds Focus Distribution

Reported by Jason Shank

National City Bank said that Donald L. Ross and Kathleen T. Barr have been promoted to senior vice presidents.

Ross retains his responsibilities as managing director of investments for National City Investment Management, the registered investment advisor for National City's Parkstone and Armada mutual fund families and other institutional investment management accounts. Ross serves as chief investment officer for National City Investment Management Company and its $24 billion under management. He reports to Robert M. Leggett, president of the Investment Management Company.

Barr, who was previously responsible for all of the Investment Management Company's sales and marketing, will now be responsible exclusively for distribution and business operations of both the Parkstone and Armada fund families. She will report to National City Corporation senior vice president and head of institutional trust, Michael J. Minnaugh.

Minnaugh said that Barr's promotion marks a delineation of the sales and marketing efforts for National City's mutual funds and its individually managed institutional trust accounts and is part of an effort to accelerate the growth of both businesses. Sales and marketing for individually managed Investment Management Company accounts will report to Leggett, Minnaugh said.

"Both Don and Kathy have been instrumental in making our mutual fund and institutional asset management businesses successful in recent years and their hard work deserves recognition and advancement," Minnaugh said. "Don's present responsibilities already bring his expertise to bear on our entire institutional trust business, including the mutual funds, while Kathy's new role will enable her to focus exclusively on growing the mutual funds," Minnaugh added.
