Saturna Hires Three

Saturna Capital has added three new members to its staff. Jim Gibson has been hired as chief financial officer. He was previously the chief operating officer and the chief financial officer of Premier Agendas Corporation. Peter Nielsen joins the firm as senior investment analyst. Before joining Saturna, he was an assistant portfolio manager and a finance manager at BC Investment Management Corporation. Chris Norman joins as systems analyst. Norman comes to Saturna from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, where he developed software to track production and inventory.


Saturna Capital, investment adviser to mutual funds and private accounts, announces three new additions to its staff of 30 full time employees.

Jim Gibson, Chief Financial Officer

Saturna recently hired Jim Gibson as their new Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Gibson will be responsible for the financial activities of Saturna Capital Corporation and its subsidiary, Saturna Brokerage Services. Mr. Gibson will work closely with staff members to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information as well as performing internal audits, overseeing payroll, receivables, payables, tax planning and assisting with regulatory compliance.

Most recently, Mr. Gibson was the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of Premier Agendas Corporation, a multi-national service and manufacturing company based in Bellingham, WA. Other experience includes several years in public accounting, and controllership in a large construction subcontractor.

Peter Nielsen, Senior Investment Analyst

Saturna’s also hired Peter Nielsen, who will serve as Senior Investment Analyst. Mr. Nielsen will develop analysis of various markets and securities, report to the portfolio managers and lead the research department. Previously, Mr. Nielsen worked as an assistant portfolio manager and a finance manager for BC Investment Management Corporation and also other investment management firms in British Columbia. Mr. Nielsen is Chartered Financial Analyst, has an MBA in Finance and is a member of the University of Victoria Chapter of Toastmasters.

Chris Norman, Systems Analyst

In addition, Saturna hired Chris Norman as their new Systems Analyst. Mr. Norman will be responsible for database programming and operations, web programming and business logic analysis and design. Mr. Norman will also be responsible for servicing clients of Saturna’s financial database system, Neptune.

He comes to Saturna most recently from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, a Texas-based global petroleum development company where he developed software to track production and inventory. Mr. Norman’s previous experience includes developing enterprise level database applications and creating intuitive user interfaces using multiple computer languages.
